Why grantwriting?

For ten years, I worked as a freelance writer, publishing four novels with traditional publishers and honing my editing, research, and organization skills as I teamed with industry professionals. While creative writing has been rewarding, the more technical aspects of the work—research and editing—have brought me the greatest fulfillment. When I returned to school last year, I enrolled in a grant writing course and discovered my calling, receiving top marks on my end-of-course project as well as my Senior Capstone, both of which are available below. As I add grantwriting to my list of skills, philanthropy excites me more than anything, and I pray I can make a difference in my little part of the world.
